Supporting colours

Families caring for children with life-threatening illnesses need support in many ways. For over 28 years Rainbow Trust has provided it. Its message of emotional and practical support for the whole family was captured in the refreshed brand identity. The charity recognised that the old brand identity no longer reflected the breadth of its work. And the rainbow symbol had become less distinctive in a crowded market. Our task was to find a way of communicating this diverse support.

Following workshops with staff and supporters, plus conversations with families supported by Rainbow Trust, we developed a creative strategy based around the different light shards that make up a rainbow.

This captures the different services the charity offers, and is also highly flexible: it can be used as multi-coloured or single, and is highly effective for use in digital channels as well as print.
